Carl Zeiss AG. (ZEISS), with the HQ in Oberkochen, is an internationally leading technology enterprise operating in the fields of optics and optoelectronics. In the previous fiscal year, the ZEISS Group generated annual revenue totaling more than 6.4 billion euros in its four segments: Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Quality & Research, Medical Technology, and Consumer Markets (status as of 30 September 2019).

OVERVIEW

With over 31,000 employees, ZEISS is active globally in almost 50 countries with over 300 managed locations in its Real Estate Portfolio that has a value of around 7 billion euro.

CHALLENGE

One of the priorities of ZEISS for the future is to improve their Corporate Real Estate Management process to deliver:

• A harmonized brand experience in real estate, providing transparency and data management in terms of needs, effort, costs, space, and service.
• Faster decision-making based on defined gates within a matrix organization.
• Optimized real estate services and costs.

SOLUTION

Zeiss started using the PMWeb project and portfolio modules in combination with the asset management module. These are all implemented to gather all information and data in the same manner. Reports and dashboards are created to give Zeiss insights into current statuses and missing data. All Zeiss operational processes are captured in PMWeb workflows and using the stage gates.
