CHALLENGE
RD Olson needed a Project Management and Collaboration solution that could standardize project management processes throughout the organization, better integrate the various systems to reduce duplicate data handling, provide a comprehensive PM platform for owners, architects, developers, and subcontractors, provide project managers a more comprehensive cost management platform, provide better project reporting and a PM solution that will continually and consistently be enhanced for the needs of midsized and larger general contractors.
SOLUTION
RD Olson selected PMWeb as their Project Management Solution. Key factors in their selection included construction industry functionality, ability to integrate with eCMS, ease of configurability, and maintenance while maintaining robust capabilities in a contemporary platform with excellent support.
RESULTS AND BENEFITS
RD Olson and PMWeb developed a targeted, small implementation team with a representation of all business units and complete management representation and support. An industry specialist was brought in to manage the integration with eCMS. All business processes were thoroughly vetted prior to project start and were well known in advance of any discussions. As such, any required decisions were instantaneous and resulted in a seamless pace with interim testing and timely feedback. The RD Olson implementation team also actively engaged in configuration, ultimately resulting in system expertise and cost savings on the overall project. The project was completed in the last quarter of 2017.
Subsequent to the implementation, which focused on internal users, R.D. Olson expanded use to include both additional internal users and a large number of external users. As of May 2021, their 15 Concurrent Collaboration licenses were serving 142 users, with a total of 174 PMWeb users.
